Theorem of variables
Inspired by the principle of virtual works, I develop a playful exercise that starts with the collection of demolition materials to build small structures in the form of a shelter.
In this symbolic movement I confront the idea of balance with the ephemeral, recovering pieces and fragments of real structures to photograph them in the instant in which the forces keep them organized vertically.
What are the adjacent calculations of these structures? What percentage of duration and permanence do the current dwellings capitalize on? Does the home exist for life? Does each personal re-edition deserve a move and a new set of balances? Can we drag the same skins to configure new refuges? Is it, after all, a matter of sustaining a harmony of forces?
The fleeting existence of these pieces photographed at the moment when their forces reach an ephemeral equilibrium calls for a reflection on the photographic medium and its narrative incapacity, limited to an isolated moment.
